On Earth Day, the Centre for Climate and Business Solutions hosts a webinar to share the critical role of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in creating sustainable and resilient supply chains. As the backbone of the global economy, SMEs face unique challenges but also hold the key to driving significant environmental and social improvements across industries. In this interactive session, participants will hear from MEC (Mountain Equipment Company), which has set science-based targets requiring them to assess their entire supply chain. UBC Sauder will delve into the critical role of education in shaping future business practices, highlighting how universities can support the next generation in learning about and implementing sustainable and resilient supply chains. Additionally, SMEs actively working towards sustainability within their operations will offer firsthand accounts of their experiences, challenges, and successes.

Panelists:

Laura Swaffield, Environmental Lead at MEC
Caren Lombard, Finance Faculty at UBC Sauder School of Business
Matthew Danchuk, Procurement and R&D at Gogglesoc

Moderated by Kookai Chaimahawong, UBC Sauder's Centre for Climate and Business Solutions
